The Hays County Personal Health Department offers a wide range of services, including primary health care, maternity and women’s health, well child and immunization programs (including, but not limited to, flu shots) and indigent health care services. Staff is on hand to assist those applying for indigent health services.
Additional responsibilities include tuberculosis and other communicable disease prevention and control and public health preparedness services.

Immunizations

The Hays County Personal Health Department offers immunizations for children and adults and the Texas Vaccine for Children program is available for both children and adults who qualify. Immunizations are given at both locations above Mondays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On the first Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. immunizations are offered for all ages at the Hays County Precinct 4 building in Dripping Springs,195 Roger Hanks Parkway. Parents whose children or adolescents are in the Medicaid or CHIP program are asked to bring their child’s card with them. Otherwise, the cost is $15 regardless of the number of immunizations needed; for adults age 19 and over the cost is $25. No one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
